On Wednesday, award-winning Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, took to his Twitter page to solicit money from his friends and fans.
Gatekeepers News reports that the singer said he needed N100 million to clear his Rolls Royce from the port and shared the account numbers to which the payments should be sent.
Immediately he made the tweet, the account started receiving credit alerts of millions of naira, according to the proof shared by the ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ himself.
Davido on his Instagram story, appreciated some of the senders, disclosing that most celebrities and fans sent him N1m each, while others sent him more or less.
The singer said Femi Otedola, Obi Cubana, E-Money, Patoranking, and some others sent him money but did not disclose the amount.
While some of the celebrities who supported Davido with N1m include Zlatan Ibile, Adekunle Gold, Mr Eazi, Nengi, Chike, Teni, Charles of Play, Cubana Chiefpriest, Naira Marley, M.I, Phyno, Eniola Badmus, Nasboi, Sydney Talker, and Peruzzi.
Others include Pasuma, Toke Makinwa, Don Jazzy, Focalistic, Ned Okonkwo, Ubi Franklin, Bella Shmurda, Friday Osanebi, Rema, Tunde Ednut, Larry Gaaga, Dorathy Bachor, Bizzle Osikoya, etc.
Brands that funded Davido’s account include Kolaq Alagbo, Munch It, TravelBeta, etc.
Kid comedians, Ikorodu Bois, however, sent the singer a sum of N5000, while Baba Ali sent N1.5m.
Musician and singer, MC Galaxy, sent N3m while Oba Elegushi sent N5m to the singer.
Sophia Momodu, Davido’s baby mama, also sent money to him. He, however, did not disclose the amount sent.
Gatekeepers News reports that the account put out by Davido has generated over N140 million as of the time of filing this report.
