Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has won the Telegraph Governor of the year award.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Kogi State Governor, North Central Nigeria, Yahaya Bello, has been conferred with the New Telegraph’s Governor of the Year Award on Youth Empowerment and inclusive governance.
Bello was represented by his Chief of Staff, Jamiu Abdulkareem Asuku and other top government officials.
The officials received the award at the newspaper’s annual awards in Lagos State, South-West Nigeria.
Bello, while receiving the award, said the award would further motivate his administration’s efforts at implementing sustainable youth policies in the state.
Bello added that he accepted the nomination for the award based on the newspaper’s pedigree in the media industry.
Bello disclosed that he is encouraged by the recognition and considered it invaluable because he neither lobbied for it nor influenced his selection.
New Telegraph said the governor is among other eminent Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in public service and the private sector to be honoured at the 2021 edition of its annual awards.
