Tems Recounts Experience In Ugandan Prison

Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi who is better known by her stage name Tems, on Monday night recounted her experience in Uganda when she was detained last year.

Gatekeepers News reports that Tems was arrested in December 2020 alongside her colleague, Stanley Omah Didia (Omah Lay) for flouting the COVID-19 protocol at that time in the event held in Ddungu Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala City.

They were, however, released from detention after a wave of heated backlashes from Nigerians on social media.

The singer, in a post on social media, recalled how she sat on the floor bonding with women and children during her time in the prison.

Tems, who said she still cannot believe all that she had gone through in the past, thanked God for sustaining her despite the odds.

“This very day last year, I was sitting in prison in Uganda bonding with women and kids. I almost can’t believe the things I’ve seen so far,” she wrote.

“All I can say is God is too awesome and he will always have the last and final laugh.”
