President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the gruesome killings by gunmen in Kaduna State, Northern Nigeria.
Gatekeepers News reports that President Buhari has condemned the gruesome incidents in Kauran Fawa, Marke, and Ruhiya of Idasu Ward of Giwa Local Government Area, saying he was really saddened by them.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Sunday.
This reaction came shortly after the President returned from Istanbul on Sunday.
Within last week, terrorists had also killed residents in Zangon Kataf, Chikun, Birnin Gwari, Igabi, and Kauru local governments of the state.
The President, therefore, extended his condolences to the Government of Kaduna State and the people in the affected local governments.
President Buhari also sent the nation’s condolences to the people of Zonkwa Chiefdom and the family of His Highness Nuhu Bature, the Agwam Kajju on his demise.
He, therefore, prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
In addition, President Buhari noted that the security forces have turned the heat on the terrorists who are getting frustrated and are soft-targeting innocent citizens, looting their assets, burning their homes, and killing them indiscriminately.
Buhari reiterated his directive to the security and intelligence chiefs to do everything they can to destroy the remaining vestiges of the terrorists.
Gatekeepers News earlier reported over 20 citizens were killed during attacks by terrorists on several villages in Giwa Local Government Area on Saturday and Sunday.
