JUST IN: Senate Changes Local Government Names

The Nigerian Senate has changed the names of some local government Areas.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Local Government names was changed during the constitution amendment plenary session.

The Senate passed the Bill to change the names of Afikpo North and Afikpo South Local Government Areas; Kunchi Local Government Area of Kano State. Atisbo Local Government Area of oyo.

Meanwhile, The Barikin Ladi local government Area name change failed as 67 senators voted in support while 26 voted against.

The plenary is ongoing and Gatekeepers News will stay on it.
