JUST IN: Senate Passes Financial Autonomy Clause For State Judiciary And Legislature

The Nigerian Senate has passed the clause granting financial autonomy to state legislatures and judiciary.

Gatekeepers News reports that the clause was passed during the constitution amendment plenary session.

The Act seeks to alter the Constitution of the Fed Rep.of Nigeria, 1999 to provide for the Financial Independence of State Houses of Assembly and State Judiciary; & for related matters.

83 Senators voted in support while one Voted against.
