Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello will head the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Security/Protocol committee as the party reconstitution its 20 sub-committees ahead of its March 26 National Convention.
Gatekeepers News reports that the new committee was approved by the Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Mai Mala Buni, according to a statement made available by the party’s National Secretary, John James Akpanudoedehe.
The sub-committees are to be inaugurated on Monday.
In the reconstituted list made available on Thursday, Governor Bello has been picked as the chairman of the party’s Security and Protocol sub-committee; Governor Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman of Kwara State is to head the Screening Committee; Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State will chair the Screening Appeal Committee, while Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State will head Election/Planning Committee.
Similarly, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State will chair Election Appeal Committee; the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami will head the Legal team; Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State will head the Accommodation team; Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State will oversee the Venue/Decoration/Site Servicing.
Also, Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State is the Transportation/Logistics chairman; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State is the Media/Publicity chairman; Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege is the Accreditation chairman.
Entertainment/Welfare Committee has Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase has its chairman; Medical Committee has Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State as its chairman; Budget Committee has Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State as its chairman.
Other Committees are; Finance with Governor Badaru Abubakar as its chairman; Accreditation of Volunteers/Diplomats/Diaspora/Observers committee with Governor Umar Ganduje of Kano State as its head; Digital Communication committee with Governor Nasiru Ahmed El Rufai of Kaduna State as its chairman; and Convention Legacy and Rapporteurs Committee with Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State as its chairman.
