Ukraine: Fourth Batch Of Evacuees Arrive Nigeria

Fourth batch of Nigerian evacuees fleeing the Ukraine crisis have arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport from Budapest, Hungary.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Nigerian government has successfully evacuated another set of its citizens fleeing the Ukraine – Russia war.

A total of 306 Nigerians arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport from Budapest, Hungary on Sunday morning.

Air Peace flight brought them home from Hungary where they had crossed over to safety from Ukraine.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other agencies attended to the returnees on arrival.

The Federal Government, Director-General of NEMA, Mustapha Habib Ahmed, while welcoming the returnees informed them that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved their evacuation back home to safety.

Ahmed also noted that the President has also provided a sum of USD$100 to be given to each of them in aid of their transportation to their various locations.

The Director Search and Rescue Air Commodore Edward Adedokun, who represented the NEMA DG further informed the returnees that arrangement has also been made for a night’s accommodation for them to rest before continuing on their journey to their homes.

He noted that those whose relatives had come to pick them up were, however, free to go.
