Rivers State Governor, South South Nigeria, Nyesom Wike has tackled the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philips Shaibu.
Gatekeepers News reports that Wike said this while speaking at the inauguration of the Eastern Bypass Road in Port Harcourt.
Earlier, Shaibu said that himself, his followers and those of Governor Godwin Obaseki do not feel accepted in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He said that they joined the PDP not because they wanted to do so but because they fell out with their erstwhile political godfather and former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, who, according to him, meted out oppression on them.
Shaibu said that they are planning to leave the PDP again because they do not feel at home in the State’s ruling party but do not know the next political party they are moving to.
Wike said, “Shaibu is threatening the party that there is an alternative to PDP, this is the same deputy governor that was kneeling down to beg for us to give them umbrella.
“Today he has the effontery to threaten PDP, these are the same people when they were denied ticket under APC, they were running helter skelter, begging everybody to give them umbrella and we give them umbrella.
“We went and make sure that they won that election, today that deputy governor would be ranting, a deputy governor coming out on television telling the PDP there is an alternative.
“I have written to the national chairman of the party, if they don’t constitute disciplinary Committee against the deputy governor, if they don’t, I will invoke the sections of the party and make sure they discipline the deputy governor.
“He lost his local government election when we were in Edo, he lost, he would now come out threatening the party that there is an alternative.
“It Is unfortunate for our party, a deputy governor wearing khaki, I have never seen a thing like this in my life, a deputy governor coming on television threatening the party.
“Who is his father? Coming on television to threaten the party, now that he’s started the trouble, we would make sure he didn’t have rest.”
