Man Beats Wife To Death

Efe Erinoja, a 42-year-old man has beaten his wife to death.

Gatekeepers News reports that Police have arrested Erinoja for allegedly beating his wife to death in Orerokpe, in the Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, Southern Nigeria.

According to reports, the suspect committed the crime after a misunderstanding with his wife around 6.30am on Wednesday.

However, the cause of the disagreement could not be immediately ascertained.

Community sources further hinted that the cry of the 36-year-old woman, identified as Faith Ekpe, attracted neighbours to their house, however, the residents found her dead on their arrival at the scene.

Her husband, on realising the gravity of the crime, reportedly fled the community.

A brother of the deceased identified as Monday Ekpe reported the matter to the Orerokpe Police Station.

According to reports, police operatives arrived at the scene, and found Faith’s corpse on the ground with marks of violence on her body.

The police then removed the body and deposited it at the Ariemughere mortuary, Orerokpe, pending an autopsy.

Meanwhile, security source said the suspect was later tracked and arrested.

The Command’s Spokesperson, Bright Edafe, while confirming the incident, added that investigations had commenced into the cause of the dispute between the couple.
