… as 150 Clubs and Associations Buys N50 Million Forms for Zulum

Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum on Wednesday accepted calls by Clubs and Associations to run for a second term in office, promising that the state will witness yet another level of people-oriented development.
Gatekeepers News reports that 150 clubs and associations consisting of Fish and Yam sellers, Transporters, Mechanics amongst others converge at the Government House Maiduguri where they present a cheque of N50 Million from their contributions to the Governor to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.
Governor Zulum who was visibly elated by the gesture of the groups said he will continue with developmental projects if elected for a second term as the Governor of Borno state.
Zulum started that he’s particularly honoured by members of the clubs and associations who contributed as low as N500 to enable him to purchase the APC forms.
“Today is a happy day for me, I’m deeply grateful to all the Clubs and Associations who have come here today to present a cheque of N50 Million for me to buy the APC Governorship Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.
“I want to assure all residents that we will continue to do all we can to ensure the security of lives and properties and provide the enabling environment for businesses to thrive,” Zulum said.
The Governor noted that despite dwindling revenues from the federation account, his second term will witness more infrastructural development with the construction of more flyovers, bridges and massive developmental projects in all 27 Local government areas.
Zulum also commended security agencies, and traditional and religious leaders for their roles in the return of peace to many parts of the state, promising that more roads will soon be opened -up for easy access of farmers and traders to their farmland and business areas.
“We will open -up the road from Maiduguri to Gamboru- Ngala and up the Republic of Chad without security escorts, same for Baga, Damasak, Banki and Damboa,” Zulum said.
The forum Chairman of the clubs and associations Awaji Bukar said the decision to contribute money to buy governorship forms for the Governor was based on the numerous development projects executed by the Zulum led administration.
“We want continuity of the many people-oriented projects executed by Governor Zulum in the last three years. We decided to make contributions so as to assist the Governor to purchase the APC governorship forms and continue with good works for the people of Borno State,” Bukar said.
