{JUST IN} Anambra: PDP’s Screening Appeal Panel Disqualifies Tony Nwoye – Ozigbo And Others

The Peoples Democratic Party’s Screening appeal panel has disqualified Tony Nwoye, Valentine Ozigbo, and others from partaking in Anambra State primaries.

Gatekeepers News reports that the appeal panel has upheld the Report of Jubril Ahmed led three (3) Ad-Hoc Ward Congresses Electoral Committee that conducted the three (3) Ad-Hoc Congresses in 326 Wards in Anambra State on the 1st of May.

In a document sighted by Gatekeepers News, the panel noted that this decision met “Having painstakingly read through the petitions, listened to oral presentations of all the contending parties.”

Gatekeepers News earlier reported that in the congress to select ad-hoc delegates list from Anambra State’s 326 awards, some members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, including Tony Nwoye, Valentine Ozigbo, and others almost forced the party’s hands to cancel the congress.

The committee, in the letter dated May 1st and sighted by Gatekeepers News, revealed that Nwoye, Ozigbo, and some others stormed the party secretariat with miscreants and asked for the original results sheets, which had been distributed at the time.

According to the committee, the PDP members who brought thugs to the party secretariat stated that the results of the congress were not favourable to them.

Following this, out of 3-man Adhoc delegates in Anambra who were elected, two members of the electoral panel recanted their earlier positions.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the PDP, Iyiorcha Ayu and dated May 1st and signed by every member of the committee, it was revealed that the election was indeed held and was free and fair except that they were held hostage by some members of the party led by Tony Nwoye and were forced to sign that the election was cancelled.

Gatekeepers News gathered from sources close to the situation that Nwoye and Valentine Nzigbo were able to reach out to these two committee members who “were bribed to recant their earlier positions.”

However, in the latest documents sighted by Gatekeepers News, Nwoye and Ozigbo were not cleared on the following grounds:

Others that were not cleared include Obinna Uzoh, Chuma Nzeribe, Chira Uzochukwu, and JohnMary Mmadukolam.
