Osun Poll: Heavy Security As Court Rules On Adeleke’s Eligibility

Unusual heavy security has been sighted at the entrance and premises of the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State Capital on Wednesday.

Gatekeepers News reports that this was as Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel was expected to rule on the suit challenging Ademola Adeleke’s eligibility as the Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the July 16 Osun governorship poll.

A chieftain of the party, Dotun Babayemi, had approached the court, asking it to invalidate the primary election that produced Adeleke as the PDP candidate.

At the entrance to the court premises were four Hilux vans belonging to the police that were manned by heavily armed operatives.

The operatives deployed also had a hectic time controlling heavy human movement into the court.

Sighted in the courtroom are many supporters of the two parties.

As of the time of filing this report, Justice Ayo-Emmanuel had commenced reading his judgement.
