The remake of a 1994 Nollywood blockbuster movie, Glamour Girls, will premiere on Netflix on June 24.
Gatekeepers News reports reports that the streaming platform, Netflix, announced the release date via its Twitter page on Friday.
“What lies beneath all the glitz and glamour? #GlamourGirls is coming to Netflix, June 24. #NollywoodIsOurs,’ it tweeted.
The movie which was directed by Chika Onukwufor, features Nse Ikpe-Etim, Sharon Oja, Joselyn Dumas and Toke Makinwa.
The original version of the movie had starred several Nollywood heavyweights including Liz Benson, Ngozi Ezeonu, Eucharia Anuobi, Pat Attah, Ernest Obi, and Zack Orji, among others.
Glamour Girls is a story of four independent single women who embarked on questionable jobs within Nigeria’s traditionally patriarchal society.
Charles Okpaleke, the chief executive officer (CEO) and co-founder of Play Networks which produced the film, while commenting on the remake via an Instagram post, wrote: “A story that would involve 3 generations of actresses. I’m going all out on this one!”
