KB Klub has partnered with the Action Group for Adolescent Health (AGAH) on a boys outreach to Saint Gregory’s College, Ikoyi, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
Gatekeepers News reports that the outreach was dedicated to celebrating International Boy’s Day which originally was celebrated worldwide on May 16th.
However, the outreach whose theme was “Guiding the Boy Child: Impacting a Generation” happened on a day dedicated to celebrating all children, May 27, 2022.
The sub-theme and core of this outreach sought to advocate better practices for Physical Health, Sexual Health, and Adolescent Health.
There was a story session that descriptively addressed these topics and it was delivered by the KB Protocol, Folly Oluwaremilekun.
Next on the agenda was a case-based session on sexual health delivered by AGAH’s ex-President, Pereira Mandela. It was a fully interactive session that focused on seeking the understanding of the students on these salient topics and trying to reposition their minds to a better understanding and grasp of this topic.
During the session dedicated to substance abuse, KBite Shaniyi explained what substance abuse was to the students and advised them to be keenly watchful of the behavioral and physical changes that accompany illicit substance abuse.
The team further seized the occasion to celebrate the birthday of three students, including KB Klub’s EdItor-in-Chief, KBite Madehin Mustapha.
In his closing remarks, an old boy of the college, in the person of our amiable KBrite, Eze Esomchukwu motivated the students on the essence of education and the need to strive for academic and all-around excellence.
