The Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the Borno State Governor, Hon Isa Umar Gusau has on Thursday urged the Network of Social Media Promoters in the state to ignore and not respond to allegations raised by the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mohammed Ali Jajari.

Gatekeepers News reports that the PDP Candidate had during a media chat last week berated the state government and its policy stating that he’s ready  to effect change in all sectors if elected Governor ahead of the 2023 election.

Gusau who described the PDP Candidate as someone seeking  publicity advice the social media promoters to rather channel thier  energy and time towards highlighting of Zulum’s developmental activities that are touching lives.

The Media aide stated this in a statement to Network of Social Media Promoters who had invited journalists with a view to reacting to the allegations levelled against Governor Zulum .

According to Gusau “As you may have observed, in recent days, an unknown governorship candidate of the PDP in Borno State has been granting all sorts of political interviews, releasing series of political articles targeting Governor Zulum ahead of the 2023 governorship election.

“On the surface, it would seem that the unknown governorship candidate wants to square up but from our experiences with such personalities, the man simply wants us to respond so that he will eventually become popular.

“Fact is that he is not quite known even within the PDP stakeholders in Borno State.

“Since 18 years ago, while I served as state correspondent in Borno State and later as regional editor for the six states in the northeast, I had alongside my respected colleagues, journalists in Borno State, covered and reported many activities of the APP-ANPP, PDP and lesser political parties in Borno State. I interacted with most of PDP’s stakeholders in the state.

“In all of these, I never came across the name of the man who recently became governorship candidate of the PDP in Borno State.

“From my enquiry, many stakeholders of the PDP in Borno State, still do not know the man. He is an unknown governorship candidate.

“Apparently, the man has realized this and is doing everything possible to attract our media reactions, hoping to gain from Zulum’s God-given publicity that is both nationwide and global.

“The unknown governorship candidate (UGC) wants us to respond to his spurious allegations so as to make him popular.

“We must not play into his kindergarten political playbook. Please ignore him. Do not ever mention his name.

“Should you feel the extreme need to respond, when, for instance, the UGC says there are no schools in a particular area, simply showcase videos and photos of relevant schools with evidence of locations. Apply same for all sectors,” the Media aide told Network for Social Media Promoters.
