Nollywood actress, Caroline Danjuma, has been unveiled as the running mate of Iboro Otu, the governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Akwa Ibom State.
Gatekeepers News reports that the AAC made the announcement in a statement on Monday, saying the actress was picked based on her “exemplary life, love for humanity, leadership ability and commitment towards the betterment of Akwa Ibom communities.”
Danjuma also confirmed her nomination as the deputy governor candidate via her Instagram page.
“To serve and to honor in loyalty and in truth to Akwaibom and Nigeria . So help me God,” she wrote.
Danjuma joins her colleagues, Tonto Dikeh, Funke Akindele and Femi Branch who were recently picked as running mates ahead of the 2023 governorship elections.
Actor Femi Branch was named as the running mate to Tofunmi Ogunronbi, governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) in Ogun state.
Actress Funke Akindele was unveiled as the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos state.
While Tonto Dikeh was also declared running mate to Tonte Ibraye, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers state.
