Asisat Oshoala Wins CAF Award For Record 5th Time

Asisat Oshoala, Super Falcon striker, has been crowned CAF women’s ‘Player of the Year’ for the fifth time.

Gatekeepers News reports that the 27-year-old was announced the 2022 winner of the gong in the gala held in Rabat, Morrocco, on Thursday.

The Barcelona star has, therefore, surpassed her compatriot, Perpetua Nkwocha, former Falcons striker who won the award four times.

Oshoala had been adjudged the best African female football in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019.

In the men’s category, Sadio Mane defeated Mohamed Salah and Eduard Mendy, to be crowned the 2022 CAF men’s player of the year award.
