World Health Organization, WHO has taken the extraordinary step of declaring Monkeypox a global emergency.
Gatekeepers News reports that the W.H.O.’s director general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made the announcement.
He said, “We have an outbreak that has spread around the world rapidly through new modes of transmission, about which we understand too little, and which meets the criteria.
“This process demonstrates once again that this vital tool needs to be sharpened to make it more effective.”
He added that Member countries are considering ways to improve the process.
