Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo has urged youths in the country to register as members of a political parties, actively participate and exercise their franchise in order to get actively involved in nation building.
Gatekeepers News reports that Mayor Dele noted that joining politics will avail youths in the country the opportunity to becoming an active voices in decision making process instead of showing I don’t care attitude.
He further added that the non-commitment of the youths in the political process will make them be at the receiving end of actions taken by those in public offices.
The chairman made these assertions during his presentation as a panelist at a town hall meeting held by his administration in partnership with Lagos Talks 91.3FM.
The townhall meeting witnessed Questions and Answers session where questions were asked from the panelists on several issues.
Panelists at the session were Mayor Dele Oshinowo; Lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 2, Femi Saheed; All Progressives Congress Candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hajia Kafilat Ogbara and a civil rights activist, Comrade Shina Loremikan.
Speaking during the questions and answers session, the chairman stated that his administration is working assiduously to ensure that the meagre resources at his administration’s disposal is put to use judiciously for the progress of humanity, stressing that the resources are finite and not enough to solve all problems facing the country.
While announcing that construction works will start on Irawo Road before the end of this year, the chairman highlighted the several achievements of his administration amidst a thunderous applause from the audience.
