VIDEO: Tobi Amusan Sets New Record To Win Another Diamond League Trophy

Nigerian sprinter, Tobi Amusan has broken a 22-year-old meeting record to win women’s 100mH at the Diamond League final in Zurich.

Gatekeepers News reports that the World and Commonwealth Games 100m hurdles champion and record holder finished in 12.29s.

American Tia Jones came in 2nd in 12.40s while Britany Anderson of Jamaica ran 12.42s to finish 3rd.

Amusan won the Diamond League trophy last year in 12.42 seconds. She also set an African record.

She has been in fine form in the past months.

In August, Gatekeepers News reported that the Nigerian Sprinter won the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham.

Amusan had earlier broken the hurdles record to finish at 12.12s in the semi-finals of the World Athletic Championship.

She has also become the first Nigerian to win a gold medal at the championship with a spirited display in Eugene, Oregon.

Similarly, at the World Athletics Diamond League in June, the 25-year-old defended her African championships title with a 12:57 seconds finish.

Amusan is the first and only Nigerian to be crowned African, Commonwealth, and World champion in the same year as her second Diamond League victory makes her fourth fastest time in the world and her second career best.
