Ondo State Governor, South-West Nigeria, Rotimi Akeredolu says that his mother would be guided by strong angels as she transits to eternity.
Gatekeepers News reports that Akeredolu, in a statement via his Facebook, said the burial arrangements would be announced by the family.
He said: “My siblings and I announce, with deepest regret and total submission to the will of the Almighty, the passing into glory of our adorable, dutiful and ever dotting mother, Lady Evangelist Grace Bosede Akeredolu JP, this morning. She died peacefully in her sleep.
“Though saddened by the departure of Maami, the one Abiyamo we knew, we are consoled with the knowledge that, even as she transits to eternity, she will be guided by the strong hands of the angels of the light in which she dwelt during her eventful and fruitful sojourn on the terrestrial plane.
“Maami rest in perfect peace.”
Lady Evangelist Grace Akeredolu, mother of Governor Akeredolu, died peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Thursday.
She was said to be 90-years-old.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Richard Olatunde, confirmed the passing of the nonagenarian.
“She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members.
“Further announcements will be made by the family in due course,” he said.
Also, President Muhammadu Buhari has extended condolences to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and his family on the passing of their beloved mother, Mrs Grace Akeredolu.
In a statement signed by Femi Adesina, his spokesman, Buhari urged the Akeredolu family members to draw strength from the life lessons taught by Mama, the values of care and compassion she inculcated in them and the sacrifices she made for her children to succeed in life.
President Buhari prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed, and urged the family to hold fast to their faith and trust in God to guide them through this difficult period.
