Secret of My Success In Bayern Munich Tournament – Coach Ezeude Justin By Raymond Nwaduba
Coach of the champions in the just concluded Bayern Munich Youth Cup World Final in Munich, Germany, Ezeude Justin Matthew, has hailed the top notch trainings he got from Bayern Munich coaches online and through zoom calls as the secret behind his being able to achieve such an enviable feat for Nigeria.
The hardworking gaffer, who beat all comers from all around the world at the Bayern U -16 tournament to emerge as world champions, which is the first by a Nigerian or any African team, said though it was not easy but having equipped himself with good coaching education did the magic.
According to him, while speaking with our correspondent, “we need a lot of coaching education for our coaches in Nigeria. We need to retrain our coaches for them to know what it takes to coach at the highest level of football. This is because most of our coaches lack lots of things and the knowledge. Technically we are not sound, we need a lot of coaches to be trained.
He therefore called on the concerned authorities to ensure our coaches are retrained and it should be a continuous process.
“So I’m calling on the authorities involved to retrain our coaches and it must be a continuous process. So that they can be in tune with what is obtainable abroad, he said. “That is the only thing I am begging them, because with that, we will be able to train the players and bring out the best in them”, he posited.
He tipped some of his players to be good enough for the national U-17 team if invited.
“Most of my players should be able to play for the U-17 national team because that’s the same age grade tournament we went for in Germany and won.
“I will advice the NFF to just keep them together for that purpose. One of the player was outstanding, that is Victor Orakpor who emerged as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament and automatically qualified to make the Bayern Munich world squad.
“Another player Abdulfatai Omale was the Highest goals scorer at the competition with 6 goals”, he concluded.
