EPL Round-Up: Iheanacho Shines In Leicester – City Push To Close-Up With Arsenal

Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho was the star of the occasion as Leicester City came from a goal down to trash Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 in their English Premier League (EPL) clash at the King Power Stadium over the weekend.

Gatekeepers News reports that Iheanacho scored one and assisted another as Leicester crushed Tottenham from a goal down.

The Saturday defeat dented Spur push for a top-four place they are currently fifth no the league table with 39 points.

At the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, Arsenal stumbled in their title push for the second week running following a disappointing 1-1 draw against Brentford.

Although Leandro Trossard scored his first Arsenal goal to hand the Gunners a lead, Ivan Toney’s strike forced Mikel Arteta’s men to share points with the Bees.

With 21 matches played as of Sunday, the Gunners now have 51 points three points away from second-placed Man City.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s men have continued to close up with Arsenal following 3-1 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday, courtesy Rodri, Gundogan, and a well converted penalty kick by Mahrez.

Watkins tried setting up a comeback for the visitors, but that obviously wasn’t enough. The title race continues as the top two face each other on Wednesday.

Away from the top two, Manchester United, following a lucky 2-2 draw at Old Trafford last Wednesday, Erik Ten Hag’s men have kept themselves well and truly defeating Leeds 2-0 in the second leg at Elland Road.

The Red Devils have been able to garner 46 points, leaving them on the third position on the table. Meanwhile, the hope of seriously contending for the title remains blurry following the absence of Casemiro, and Eriksen.

In other news, Chelsea are yet to record any encouraging result Graham Potter’s era. The Blues having played 1-1 draw against Westham on Saturday continue to wallow at no where close to the top five.
