Pastor Dies While Attempting ‘40-day Jesus Fast’

A Pastor has died in Mozambique after allegedly attempting a 40-day fast.

Gatekeepers News reports that the pastor, Francisco Barajah was confirmed dead on Wednesday.

According to the Bible, Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights after which he was tempted by the devil.

Barajah is the founder of one Santa Trindade Evangelical Church in the central province of Manica.

The pastor was admitted to a medical facility in Beira, Sofala Province after he was found in a “critical condition”.At the time when he was hospitalized, it was said that the clergyman had already fasted for 25 days and had lost so much weight that he couldn’t walk.

Barajah was diagnosed with acute anemia and organ failure and all efforts to rehydrate the pastor with serums and liquid foods proved futile as he passed away a few hours after being admitted to the health facility on Wednesday, February 15th.

The late pastor’s religious flock said that it was common for him to fast but not for such long periods of time.

The brother of the deceased pastor, Marques Manuel Barajah, maintained that his brother passed away owing to low blood pressure.
