EPL Round-Up: Liverpool Thrash Man United 7-0 To Enter Race For Europe

Manchester United suffered their worst defeat in 92 years after their arch-rival, Liverpool thrashed them 7-0 in their English Premier League (EPL) clash at Anfield on Sunday.

Gatekeepers News reports that Liverpool’s trio of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gapko, and Darwin Nunez scored braces before Roberto Firmino’s final goal of the match sent Jurgen Klopp’s men to the fifth position on the table.

The fresh Carabao Cup winners were totally clueless in the second half of the humiliating Sunday game.

Casemiro had a goal ruled out for offside for Man United and this spurred Liverpool to action as the Reds took the lead on the stroke of halftime when Gapko latched on to Andy Robertson’s through ball before curling into the corner.

Jurgen Klopp’s men resumed the second half with doubled energy by scoring six more goals.

The stinging defeat is United’s worst in all competitions in 92 years since losing by a similar scoreline to Wolves in 1931.

It is also their first loss in 12 matches in all competitions and the first loss in five EPL games.

The rejuvenated Liverpool move up to fifth on the log with 42 points from 25 matches, three points away from the much-coveted fourth position, Man United remain third with 49 points, nine points behind Man City, their local rivals.

Gatekeepers News earlier reported that Arsenal pulled an impressive performance after fighting back from two goals down to beat Bournemouth 3-2 on Sunday.

The Premier League leaders are currently on 63 points, five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Chelsea seem to be getting back on track after defeating Leeds United 1-0. Further results will, however, prove the team’s commitment.
