Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, on Saturday, expressed optimism that his party – the All Progressives Congress (APC) is on the cause or recording a tremendous victory at the Borno State Governorship and House of Assembly elections
Gatekeepers News reports that Shettima stated that the APC Governorship candidate and Incumbent Governor, Babagana Zulum, had impacted the lives of the people positively and deserve to be re-elected to continue the transformational development of the State.
Shettima made the disclosure at the Presidential Lodge of the State Government House during a press conference where he described the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as self-exiled politicians and never on the ground to attend to the needs of the citizens.
The Vice President-elect revealed that the PDP has never won the governorship election in the State noting that “the best they’ve ever gotten so far under the current democratic dispensation was during the last Presidential election ( secured over 40% votes).
“Prof. Zulum will get a resounding second-term mandate. We are on the cause of recording a tremendous victory at the end of the day by the grace of God.
Meanwhile, Governor Babagana Zulum commended the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) for an improved outing compared with the last presidential election.
He also commended the security agencies for being on top of their game by ensuring the security of lives and properties in all parts of the State.
Prof Zulum stated this shortly after casting his vote at unit 006 Ajari, his home town of Mafa Local Government Area.
“INEC has done well and we must commend them for ensuring credible election in the State,” Zulum said.
