“When A Man Is Treacherous, There’s A Payback Time”- Fayose Taunts Tambuwal

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has expressed his joy over Governor Tambuwal’s Candidate’s Loss in Sokoto state.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a released video, Fayose congratulated winners of the just held Governorship elections across the country on Saturday and also thanked the Sokoto state people for teaching Tambuwal a lesson for being treacherous.

The PDP member accused Tambuwal of betraying Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-elect and also crossing over to the Peoples Democratic Party and betraying Governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike who sponsored him in 2019.

Governor Aminu Tambuwal was a member of All Progressives Congress (APC) political party before he defected to the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), however his deputy, Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto resigned from office over political differences with Tambuwal and remained in the APC where he contested for the Governorship election.

Ahmed Aliyu polled 453,661 votes to defeat his closest challenger and candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mallam Saidu Umar, who polled 404,632 votes.

According to the INEC declared results, Ahmed Aliyu won in 18 out of the 23 local government areas of the State and has been declared Governor-elect of Sokoto state.

He won in Binji, Wurno, Yabo, Gwadabawa, Rabah, Bodinga, Tangaza, Kware, Dange-Shuni, Sabon Birnin, Shagari, Illela, Gudu, Gada, Kebbe, Sokoto South, Wamakko and Sokoto North local government areas.

On the other hand, the PDP candidate, Malam Sa’idu Umar, recorded victory at Isa, Silame, Tureta, Goronyo and Tambuwal local government areas of the State.

Fayose also enjoined the Sokoto people to make sure Tambuwal loses his Senatorial rerun.
