JUST IN: Police Arrest Portable After 72-hour Ultimatum

Ogun state police command has arrested controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola also known as Portable after the expiration of the 72-hour ultimatum given to him to turn himself in.

Gatekeepers News reports that Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police spokesperson, was quoted to have said that the singer is currently at the state headquarters of the police in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Reports gathered say the ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner was arrested on Friday following the expiration of the 72-hour ultimatum which was given to him on Wednesday.

This was after the singer resisted attempts by the police to arrest him and also referred to himself as “a federal government liability”.

Oyeyemi had earlier stated that if the controversial singer failed to surrender himself, the police will “go after him.”

“Yes but his father has promised to produce him on or before Friday,” he said.

“So, we are expecting him to show up and if he doesn’t come, we are going after him.

“Only then will he know that we have the wherewithal to get him because he is not bigger than the law.”

The state police spokesperson said the arrest warrant became necessary after Portable refused to honour the police invitation on several occasions.
