WiJAfrica Unveils 25 Most Powerful Women Journalists in Nigeria for 2023 – See Number One

Women in Journalism Africa has unveiled the 2023 ranking of the 25 Most Powerful Women Journalists in Nigeria for 2023.

Gatekeepers News reports that WiJAfrica is a respected gathering of leading women journalists across the African continent, and their annual list serves as a recognition and celebration of the exceptional achievements of women in the field of journalism.

The journalists on the list have shown exceptional skill and courage in their reporting, and their influence reaches far beyond their immediate sphere.

WiJAfrica noted that the criteria for selection was rigorous, focusing on various aspects such as the depth and breadth of coverage of the elections, journalistic integrity, innovation, and leadership qualities. 

The critical role that journalism plays in shaping our society and democracy and the power of the press to hold leaders accountable, uncover truth, and drive public opinion cannot be underestimated and the women who make the final list arethe crème de la crème of the Nigerian journalism industry, and their work reflect their immense dedication, hard work, and passion for their profession.

The list has the likes of Neya Kalu, the Chairwoman and Publisher of The Sun Nigeria, Adenike Adebowale Tambe, a senior health reporter with Premium Times,Amaka Okoye, Bilkisu Labaran, Grace Alheri Abdu, Toun Okewale Sonaiya,  Kadaria Ahmed, Stella Din Jacob and many more notable Female Journalists.
