The first crown placed on King Charles’ head during today’s coronation is called St Edward’s Crown.

Gatekeepers News reports that the crown was placed on the King’s head by the Archbishop of Canterbury inside Westminster Abbey.

  • Six monarchs have won it in the past 360 years.
  • It’s only used for this occasion (Coronation Day)
  • It would be returned to the Tower of London after the occasion

After the coronation, another crown was placed on the King’s – Imperial State Crown.
