World Bank says it’s targeting to build 1,000 mini-grid powerplants in Nigeria under the country’s Electrification Project.
Gatekeepers News reports that the president of the bank, Ajay Banga sai this during a visit to inspect a mini-grid power plant at Kwali Area Council of the FCT.
The mini-grid site located at Petti village is co-financed by The Bretton Woods Institution under Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) and implemented by the Nigeria Rural Electrification Agency.
The power plant has continued to help with powering small businesses and public buildings (schools, health centres), as well as enhanced security of women and children through public lighting.
