Makinde Approves Selection Of New Soun Of Ogbomoso

Governor of Oyo state, Southwest Nigeria, Seyi Makinde has approved the appointment of Afolabi Olaoye as the new Soun-elect of Ogbomoso.

Gatekeepers News reports that this was disclosed In a statement by the Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Olusegun Olayiwola.

He said the announcement followed the long-drawn processes specified under the law.

“His Excellency congratulates the new Soun-elect on his ascension to the throne of his forebears,” the statement reads.

Olayiwola said the monarch-elect’s new position requires him to nurture harmony among the people and urged natives of Ogbomoso to cooperate with Olaoye in achieving a successful rule.
