Some students of the University of Lagos began another protest against the increment in tuition fees of the institution.
Gatekeepers News reports that this is the second protest in one week by the UNILAG students who are joined by colleagues from other universities
The students were accompanied by the men of the Nigerian police Force and those of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The protesters chanted the need for the school authorities to reduce the fees and said they will continue to protest until their school fees are returned to status quo.
They are also asking the Federal Government to invest the proceeds from the subsidy removal on education rather than allow any increment in school fees.
In July, the UNILAG authorities announced hike tuition fees for new and returning undergraduate students stating that the decision was as a result of the “prevailing economic realities”.
