Job Description:
- We are seeking a skilled and dedicated IT Officer to join our organization’s IT team. The IT Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining our company’s IT infrastructure, providing technical support to end-users, and ensuring the security and efficiency of our IT systems.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong background in IT, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude to address IT-related challenges.
Responsibilities
System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform regular maintenance on computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
- Monitor system logs and security alerts to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users, both remotely and on-site.
- Assist employees with IT-related problems, including hardware and software issues.
- Create and maintain user accounts and access permissions.
Network Management:
- Configure and maintain network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure a stable and secure network environment.
- Implement and manage network security protocols and policies.
Software and Hardware Procurement:
- Assist in the procurement of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades or replacements as needed.
Data Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and maintain data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical company data.
- Test data recovery processes regularly to ensure reliability.
Cybersecurity:
- Monitor for security breaches and take proactive measures to protect the organization from cyber threats.
- Stay updated on cybersecurity best practices and implement security policies.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Create user guides and manuals to assist employees in IT-related tasks.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) would be a plus.
- Proven experience working in IT support or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking systems.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and office productivity software.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
