Bayelsa: PDP And LP Members Join APC – Declare Support For Sylva

Fifty thousand members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) have reportedly joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the Bayelsa governorship election in November.

Gatekeepers News reports that defectors who pledged their support for governorship candidate of the APC in the State, Timipre Sylva were received during a rally in Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa, on Thursday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixed the state’s election for November 11.

APC’s Deputy National Chair (north), Ali Dalori was present to receive the defectors to the party.

Victor Isaiah, Nathaniel Sylva, and Ebinyu Turner, former LGA chairs, were part of those received by Dalori.

In reaction to this, Sylva said the defectors should work for the success of the APC and boot out Douye Diri, the incumbent governor and PDP member.

He said no amount of intimidation would stop him and the APC from winning the polls.

The governorship candidate said, “No stone will be left unturned to ensure victory at the November poll.

“No amount of intimidation and desperation by the PDP government in the state can stop the APC from winning the governorship election.”

On his part, Gombe governor and chair of the Bayelsa APC campaign council, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, said the defectors should ensure the party wins the election.
