Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu has said the results of the upcoming governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states will be uploaded on the agency’s result viewing portal (IReV).
Gatekeepers News reports that Yakubu said this while supervising the INEC’s mock accreditation exercise in Kogi on Saturday.
According to him, the commission would adhere to the procedure “as provided by law” and make results available to the public in real-time during the gubernatorial elections.
The INEC Chairman added that the process was also tested during the mock exercise, which was held across the three states.
Yakubu said, “The method is as provided by law, electronic accreditation, electronic upload of results on the IREV portal, and that is why we are doing this mock.
“That is going to be the procedure, and it’s for that reason that I will advise you also for those who are registered on the IREV portal.
“In the next two hours or so, go to the IREV portal, and you will see the results of the mock accreditation from all three states.
“We are uploading, as we have done in previous elections.”
The off-season governorship elections are billed to be held in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi on November 11.
The commission said 5,409,438 Nigerians are expected to vote during the polls across the three states.
