APC Suspends Campaign In Kogi Over Ohinoyi’s Death

All Progressives Congress has suspended the ongoing governorship election campaign in Kogi state, North central Nigeria, in honour of the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Ado Ibrahim.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Secretary of the APC Campaign Council, Ozigi Salami, disclosed this in a letter addressed to members of the Ododo/Oyibo Campaign Council.

The letter reads, “This is to bring to the notice of all directorates, support groups and teeming supporters of the Ododo/Oyibo project and the general public that the Ododo/Oyibo Campaign Council has decided to suspend all political activities in Kogi Central Senatorial District to honour the demise of our revered king, Dr. Ado Ibrahim, who God Almighty has called to eternal rest.”

Abdulrahman Ado-Ibrahim was born on Feb. 7, 1929, and was the fourth traditional ruler and Ohinoyi of Ebiraland with headquarters in Okene, Kogi State.

He was a son of the second Attah (now “Ohinoyi”) of Ebiraland, Ibrahim Onoruoiza of the Omadivi Clan, who reigned from 1917–1954.

Ado-Ibrahim was enthroned as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland in 1997 and reigned until Sunday when he died.
