Nigerian chef, Temitope Adebayo, also known as Tope Maggie on Saturday, surpassed the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
Gatekeepers News reports that Chef Maggie surpassed Irish chef, Alan Fisher’s 119-hour and 57-minute record.
Oyo Affairs X page, while announcing this in a video, said the Nigerian concluded a 200-hour cook-a-thon in the early hours of Saturday
The video was captioned, “Congratulations to Chef Tope Maggie and his team for completing a 200-hour Cook-A-Thon, which came to an end at exactly 3 am this morning.”
According to reports, the cook-a-thon started on Thursday evening and ended on Saturday morning.
It took place at the Ogbomoso Recreation Club in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, across LAUTECH College of Health Sciences in Isale-General.
Chef Maggie is awaiting confirmation of his record by the GWR as congratulations and celebration continue over his feat.
Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci was recently dethroned by Irish Chef Fisher.
