Lagos Begins Squatter Eviction Under Ijora Causeway Bridge

Lagos State government has began the eviction of Squatter under Ijora Causeway Bridge.

Gatekeepers News reports that the State’s Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, took action in collaboration with the Special Intervention Squad on the Restoration of the Lagos Badagry Rail Corridor Clean-Up, spearheaded by Bayo Sulaiman.

The removal of the illegal squatters and clearing the area was a directives from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in a video he shared on his X handle on Saturday.

Wahab wrote, ” Following the expiration of a 5-day quit notice issued to squatters under the Ijora Causeway Bridge by #followlasg last Sunday, the Enforcement Team of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources #LasgMOE and Special Intervention Squad on the Restoration of the Lagos Badagry Rail Corridor Clean-Up led ACP Bayo Sulaiman begin enforcement by dislodging the illegal squatters and clearing up the area as directed by Lagos State Governor, #jidesanwoolu”
