YPP Emerges Victorious In Anambra House Of Reps Rerun Elections

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has secured victories in two House of Representatives rerun elections in Anambra.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Returning Officer for the election, Professor Charles Nweke, announced that Mr. Peter Uzokwe, the YPP candidate, won the Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, polling 25,580 votes.

Uzokwe defeated his closest rival, Mr. Uchenna Eleodimmuo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who garnered 25,412 votes.

The candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Fredrick Emeka, polled 17, 863, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates garnered 7,021 and 2,658 votes respectively.

In another rerun election for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Mrs. Chinwe Nnabuife of the YPP emerged victorious with 14,416 votes, defeating the PDP candidate, Mr. Okwudili Ezenwankwo, who polled 13,087 votes.

The YPP’s success in both elections strengthens its position in the region.
