JUST IN: Tinubu Honours Super Eagles With MON

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has honoured members of Super Eagles team the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) national honour.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Nigerian senior male footballers were awarded for their impressive display at the just concluded the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament held in Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles were conferred with the title in the Aso Rock on Tuesday.

They were also given one flat each and a plot of land in the FCT.

Nigeria came in second place, losing the trophy to the hosts nation, Cote d’Ivoire after being defeated 2-1 in the final on Sunday night.

They now join the ranks of Imam Abdullahi Abubakar, HRM Eze Isaac Ikonne, Dr. Faisal Shuaibu, Chief Silva Ejeh Ameh, Alh. Kamoru Ibitoye Yusuf, Mallam Ibrahim Okposi, Alhaji Shehu Uthman, Barr. Chris Ezem, Davido and Teni to have received the national honours.
