El-Rufai Makes Huge Revelation – Says Hadiza Balarabe Was His Preferred Governorship Candidate In 2023

Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasiru El- Rufai on Monday revealed that his initial choice successor was his deputy, Dr.Hadiza Balarabe before he opted for the incumbent governor, Senator Uba Sani .

Gatekeepers News reports that El- Rufai is not backing down yet as he’s optimistic that Dr Balarebe who is serving as deputy governor of Kaduna State for a second term will someday become the governor of the state.

This was made known at Musa Usman Secretariat in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State venue of  capacity building workshop on enhancing skills of government officials in policy implementation and productive human resource management.

El-Rufai who was the lead speaker at the event took ample time to eulogise  women as better managers of resources revealed that ” something ” halted his initial plans to ensure Dr Balarabe emerge the flag bearer to the governing All Progressives  Congress ( APC) shortly before the 2023 governorship election in the state

” It wasn’t surprising that I picked a woman as my running mate in my second term . I did my best to try to hand over to her(in 2023 )  she was my prefered  candidate but something happened but I know , one day she will become the Governor of the state,” El- Rufai said .

El- Rufai who  revealed that women are more reliable and do  have better  ideas in position of authority noted that he is more comfortable amongst women.

” Women are more honest than men and they are more reliable. They often have better ideas than men. This was whiy in my last cabinet, I had 17 Commissioners, 9 were women – I found the women more useful ” El- Rufai said .

The former governor who was also the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory  (FCT)told his audience that he’s not prepared to be a godfather to anyone noting that he has successfully concluded his assignment as the governor of Kaduna state .

” Since I left office as Governor of Kaduna State, I think I’ve been there four or five times,  just to allow the Governor peace of mind to do whatever he wants , make his mistakes, learn just as I did . I don’t want to be a godfather, I dont want to control anything,” El-Rufai said .
