NDLEA Declares Couple Wanted For Drug Trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has declared a man named Kazeem Omogoriola Owoalade aka Abdul Qassim Adisa Balogun and his wife, Rashidat Ayinke Owoalade aka Bolarinwa Rashidat Ayinke wanted.

Gatekeepers News reports that the couple were declared wanted after four members of their syndicate in  Lagos were arrested, a Sports Utility Vehicle was recovered and two houses traced to them were sealed to be forfeited to the Federal Government.

The Agency’s Spokesman, Mr. Femi Babafemi said in a statement yesterday that two members of the syndicate: Imran Taofeek Olalekan and Ishola Isiaka Olalekan were arrested on April 3, 2024 during their attempt to export 3.40kg cocaine on a Qatar Airlines flight going to Oman through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja.

Imran who was in charge of delivering the drug consignment to Oman was employed by Ishola for head of the cartel, who was later revealed to be Alhaji Kazeem Omogoriola Owoalade.

The notorious lord of the syndicate resides in India and his Indian residence permit bears the name Abdul Qassim Adisa Balogun.

NDLEA’s spokesman revealed that they were later able to cut-off his network in Nigeria after five weeks of surveillance and follow up operations which also resulted in another member of the syndicate, Hamed Abimbola Saheed who worked directly with the suspected drug lord’s arrested on Tuesday, May 14, at Abule Egba,Lagos.

The operatives recovered some phenacetine, a cutting agent for Cocaine, weighing 900 grams while searching Hamed’s house.

He confessed that the substance was what was left of the consignment Imran was taking to Oman the day he was arrested.

Ahmed’s arrest led to another operation at the wanted couple’s house at 20, Eyiaro Street, Ogudu Orioke,  Lagos state where another suspect was arrested and a new model Toyota RAV4, SUV, marked FKJ-773 JJ belonging to Rashidat and an additional 400 grams of Cocaine were recovered.

Also found at the Owoalade’s house addition was an already prepared suitcases to be used for illicit drug concealment, digital weighing scales among other equipments.
