Wife of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun on Tuesday visited the Olubadan designate,
Oba Owolabi Olakulehin at his Alalubosa, Ibadan palace.
Gatekeepers News reports that Elizabeth who was in Oyo for an agricultural program was led to the palace by the wife of the state Commissioner of Police Mrs Abidemi Hamzat. She was accompanied by wives of other police top hierarchy.
The Olubadan designate exclaimed that the event was significant as it was the first delegation of the Federal Government to him.
Oba Olakulehin who spoke through the Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lateef Adebimpe, thanked the Police officer’s wives association for the visit and their support to the course of women’s emancipation in the country.
He promised to prioritize gender equality and respect for women, irrespective of their religion, tribe, or status.
Elizabeth urged stakeholders to collaborate to empower young women in agriculture to further solve the issue of food insecurity in the country.
