Nigerian-American – Yomi Faparusi To Run For U.S. Congress

A Nigerian-American resident in Tennessee, Yomi Faparusi has declared his candidacy as an independent for Tennessee’s 5th District in the upcoming U.S. Congressional elections on November 5, 2024.

Gatekeepers News reports that Faparusi, during a virtual press conference, expressed the belief that his potential victory would inspire future generations.

He highlighted hyperinflation as a pressing issue in the country and noted that it is making life increasingly difficult for the general population.

Additionally, Faparusi expressed concerns about the shrinking middle class and the threatened state of the American dream.

Faparusi’s campaign focuses on addressing these economic challenges and promoting policies that support the welfare and aspirations of all Americans.

Faparusi said he is running for office because America is divided and weakened, and he aims to unite Americans across various divides.

He said “America is so divided and weakened because politicians now run on divisive and wedge issues. Hence, I decided to run as a unifier, so that things can get done. I also hope my victory in November would inspire the next generation.”

“There is inflation making it hard to make ends meet; the middle class is disappearing, and the American dream is threatened. I want to tackle inflation. I want to create an environment that is conducive to small businesses, the most important units of job creation.”

“Congress is in stalemate, and nothing is getting done. I will work across the aisle for the common good. Americans are tired of cyclical threats of government shutdowns.”
