Sanwo-Olu Swears In 13 New Judges

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday swore in thirteen (13) new judges, seven males and six females for the state high courts at Lagos House, Ikeja.

Gatekeepers News reports that Sanwo-Olu while speaking during the swearing-in event, urged the state judiciary to be the best that can compete with other judiciaries across the world always.

Sanwo-Olu also urged the judiciary, especially the new benchers, to carry out justice quickly and fairly, without fear. He also asked them to be honest and transparent in carrying out their duties.

The Governor also urged the new judiciaries to be of the highest standard of impartiality, compassion, ethical standards, and excellence that the Lagos judiciary is known for in Nigeria.

The new judges’ names are Justices Fimisola Azeez, Alfred George, Olayinka Ojuromi, Yewande Badejo-Okusanya, Adenike Shonubi, Oyeladun Olayinka, Tunde Sunmonu, Musiliu Adewale, Justices Adegboyega Balogun, Tanimola Anjorin-Ajose, Olawale Alebiosu, Abdul-Raheem Muyideen and Oluwatosin Popoola.

The new benchers were among the best 300 lawyers who applied for the judicial position.

They were appointed as judges of the State High Courts after being tested through an oral and written examination by the Nigeria Judicial Council.
