Federal Government of Nigeria on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, held a public lecture at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja, to commemorate 25 years of unbroken democratic governance in the country.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, welcomed guests, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Shettima Kashim, and other dignitaries, to the event themed “25 Years of Enduring Democracy: Prospects for the Future”.
Akume praised the contributions and sacrifices of national heroes and heroines who fought for democratic rule in Nigeria and expressed optimism about the country’s democratic journey.
The event featured a keynote address by former Speaker of the House of Representatives and former Governor of Katsina State, RT Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, and a panel discussion with statesmen and analysts.
