Ogun State government has confirmed nine out of the twenty-five suspected cases of Cholera outbreak since the first two incidents were recorded on June 12.
Gatekeepers News reports that it also confirmed one death involving a 62-year-old woman in Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu North LGA.
Commissioner of Health, Dr. Tomi Coker made the confirmation during a press conference on Monday.
Coker revealed that the outbreak has spread to seven local governments in the state.
The affected local governments according to Coker include; Remo North, Sagamu, Obafemi Owode, Ewekoro, Ado/Odo/Ota, Ijebu North and Odeda.
She further noted that known causes of cholera include ingesting contaminated water, drinks and food, unhygienic sanitary conditions and poor personal hygiene.
In addition, Coker noted that five of the confirmed cases had contact with Lagos and took tiger nut drinks.
