Aminat Ajikobi, a 300-level Education/Biology student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has received an outpouring of support from generous individuals after her story went viral.
Gatekeepers News reports that for over a decade, Aminat had been living in a flooded house, struggling to make ends meet after her mother’s passing.
Despite the challenges, she took on the responsibility of supporting herself through private tutoring, earning about N40,000 monthly.
Following the viral video interview and tour of her slum by @ositapopcorn, generous donors have contributed a total of N10 million to support Aminat’s education and well-being.
The University’s student body has also offered her free hostel accommodation to ease her academic journey.
